hey friends! as a squad, we were each told to write a blog on why we are going on the race! So I decided to make mine short and sweet just to keep you guys updated about where my head is at!

So, to start off, I would not be going on the race if the lord didn’t call me here! So that holds a lot of the reason why I’m going on the race! But! There are obviously more reasons for why I am going!

I’m going on the race because I want to see lives changed through Jesus.

I’m going on the race because I can feel the growth that is going to take place in my heart and relationship with Jesus while I’m gone. I know that I’m not going to be the same when I get back. I mean, I’ve already grown so much and I haven’t even left yet! So I can’t even imagine how much I’m going to grow on the field!

One of my precious squad mates said it perfectly. She said “I want to grow in my relationship with Jesus so that I may feel at home no matter where in the world I am. I want my ‘home’ to be wherever I follow Him.” And there’s so much truth in that to me! Because, to be honest, I have literally no clue what my life is going to look like after the race. But I know that I’ll be wherever Jesus wants me (shoutout to Reagan! I love you and your heart, girl).

I‘m going on the race because Jesus called the disciples to leave everything that they knew and follow him. They left their comforts and homes and followed Jesus. And that’s exactly what my squad and I are doing! we are leaving every comfort we know, packing nine months of our lives into a hiking bag and one book bag, and following Jesus! And I am so excited! It’s going to be so uncomfortable and so scary, but so good and so rewarding!

I‘m going on the race because I want to see Jesus work in ways that I’ve never seen in little ole Vancleave, Mississippi. not saying he doesn’t work in crazy ways here. But I cant even imagine what we are going to witness across the world!

I saw a quote and that said “I wanna feed the hungry children and reach across the farthest land and tell the broken there is healing in the father’s hands”. that’s  exactly how I feel. I want to be a living representation of who Jesus is to those who have never met him or even heard about him before.

the world race is going to be a crazy adventure and I’m so ready to experience every part of it. The good moments and the bad. The holy stuff and the hard stuff. It’s going to be so good! And I know that Jesus is pushing me to dive into complete trust and reliance on him!

So that’s where my head is at right now!

I love you guys and thanks for reading!

  1. Anna, You are so right! You will not be the same when you get back and neither will the lives of those you touch along the way. Stay steadfast in prayer with a pure heart and motive, be receptive to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and just watch the handiwork of God. Safe travels/adventures. Love and prayers! Naomi
